Aldwyck Backing Young Britain

Aldwyck Housing Group is getting behind the Backing Young Britain campaign by offering job opportunities to young people through the Future Jobs Fund.

Six work placements are being created across Aldwyck’s business which will give a foot on the employment ladder to candidates aged between 16-25 who have been out of employment for a year or more. The placements include an intensive training and mentoring programme designed to boost the self-confidence and job prospects for those who get involved.

The Future Jobs Fund is part of the Backing Young Britain campaign which brings Government, business and other organisations together to create thousands of opportunities for young people.

Aldwyck’s support is the latest in a line of initiatives taken by the company to try and improve outcomes for young people within its area of operation. Other recent developments include opening up training and job opportunities at the Wauluds House scheme in Luton, and offering skills training to customers in Bedfordshire through our ‘Tackling Worklessness’ programme.

Chief Executive Harj Singh commented: “We are absolutely delighted to be providing these opportunities to young people and if more follow our lead, our future workforce will be better trained and more job-ready.

“In a tough labour market it is critical we do our part to ensure this generation is not trapped by unemployment. Anybody working at Aldwyck, will become a valued member of the team and learn about what working in housing has to offer. I urge young people to approach their local employers and ask if they are able to offer similar opportunities.”
