Aldwyck customers receive TAROE training
27 January 2010
Aldwyck has continued to demonstrate its innovative approach to enabling customers to participate in the shaping of its services by providing training sessions for potential residents’ associations members by the Tenants and Residents Organisations of England (TAROE).
The respected body, which represents tenants throughout England and campaigns on their behalf, lent their expertise to help individuals who are participating in the local associations which raise concerns surrounding issues in their areas.
Darren Hartley, policy manager for TAROE, talked Aldwyck customers through current developments in housing from a resident-side perspective, before providing them with advice and information on setting up Residents’ Association and how to get their neighbours involved.
The move is the latest in a line taken by Aldwyck to increase and improve the involvement of customers within its business, following on from the training and mentoring system already offered to members of its ground-breaking Customer Scrutiny Panel.
Aldwyck is set to reposition its business into two new housing associations Aldwyck East and Aldwyck West by April 2010, strengthening the local provision of services and the commitment to expand Residents Associations is part of the localism agenda.
Community Involvement Officer Sue Crossey said: “As an organisation we are constantly striving to make sure our customers can contribute to our services in the most effective way possible. TAROE have a wealth of experience that proved invaluable to our residents.”
